I have a bunch of email addresses which I would like to verify if they still exist or not. Is there some kind of free software where you can find out if they are still online or not? I don’t want to check them out individually cause that would be time consuming. I was hoping there would be a program for this kind of thing.

As much as I know, there is no such program.
My recommendation for you is every time you register to a new E-Mail just write it somewhere on a sheet of paper and every time you want to check something in the E-Mail just look at the paper and enter the E-Mail.
All I know is that the E-Mail of Hotmail or Windows Live doesn’t exists anymore if you don’t enter it an allocated period of time (a month or few weeks, I don’t quite remember).

The software you want should be available with all the spammers. Get hold of one if you can.
The most practical way is to send all of them a mail ‘Checking’ as the heading, put all the addresses in the CC field and send it. Your email provider’s mailer daemon will tell you where the mail bounced.
