I have to take more javascript programming classes and I’m really not good at it. I desperately need help. I own Visual Basic, but it’s a little difficult to use. What is the best book, online resource, and software for programming in javascript?

The best place to start is reading an o’reilly book. They are the authoritive source on tech everything.
They have ALL their books available online at safari.oreilly.com
It’s a hell of a good deal for anyone who buy more than 1 tech book every 3 months.

I usually do the Amazon Used and New dealio. Go to amazon.com, search for “javascript”.
Then you can use the sort functions on the left to narrow it down. Then click the little dropbox for prices low to high on the right.
Then you get all the fun of amazon used and new. Most of my programming books (16/18) were bought for $0.01 plus $3.99 shipping.
Javascript, however, is a lot trickier to use than VB. If you want something easy, VB is the only really easy one I can think of (I mean, come on, Basic is in the name
).

The “books” section in the left nav-bar has a link to the latest edition of O’Reilly’s “JavaScript: the Definitive Guide.” That is THE best book (I own two editions).
The “javascript” section in the right nav-bar holds links to several online learning sites, both novice and expert.
