I had a small veggie garden last year, so this wasn’t a problem as I used some small tools I purchased myself. This year, I plan to go pro, and came upon some old tools (spade, pitchfork, rake, etc) that were here from the previous owner of my house. Problem is, they’re rusty. Can I use them safely, or should I scrap them and buy all new stuff?
PS: I will be composting, too.

We have mostly weeds, and want to plant a lot of grass seeds, to try to crowd out the weeds. We probably need to dethatch, aerate, etc., then plant the seeds, then water frequently till the seeds sprout, and probably mow frequently to keep the weeds from growing back. We have a mower but nothing to dethatch or aerate or anything. We’ve heard of a power rake but don’t know where to rent one or how to use it. Or what other tools should we rent or buy, and where we should get them?

When my tree started growing back leaves this year it also sprouted giant green spotted bulbs. They are very soft and the size of a golf ball. Any idea what type of tree this is?

I’ve had this beautiful majesty palm tree for almost 5 months and last week i just noticed that the leaves had little brown stops, and when i took a closer look i found out that it was brown soft scales invading my palm.

Does anyone have had this kind of problem with their palnts? How did you get rid of it?

Does anyone know how to get rid of this ugly insects? Please notice that as time is passing the stupid soft scales are duplicating at a very fast rate that could be fatal to my Majesty palm.
